Mechanical Issue Knock Hirst Out of KRC Safety Fall Shootout

PETERSEN MEDIA- A strong run on Saturday night at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA came to an early end for Kyle Hirst, as mechanical woes forced him out of the race on lap 22 while running in the fourth spot.

“My guys worked hard all night, and we were extremely fast, but unfortunately we had an issue come up late in the race, and it knocked us out of contention,” Kyle Hirst said.

Climbing aboard a new look Roth Motorsports No. 83jr entry on Saturday night to take on the King of the West Series, Kyle Hirst would get things started off by timing the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle backed machine in 12th fastest before the Roth Motorsports team went to work on changing engines.

Getting everything sorted out before heat race action, Hirst would make the call and proceed to pick up the heat race win and earn a spot in the Dash. Pulling the seven pill in the Dash draw, ‘KH’ would finish fifth putting the 3H Cattle/Mobil1/FK Rod Ends machine in the third row for the A Main.

A very fast Thunderbowl surface saw many drivers using the bottom of the speedway, though Hirst would search around as he looked to get moving forward on a track where only a few could pass on.

Working into the fourth spot, Hirst would find himself battling with his Roth Motorsports teammate, Jac Haudenschild at times, as both drivers were laying it all on the line.

On the 22nd lap however, Hirst would have something go south under the hood of his No. 83jr machine, and he would make a stop in the work area before the team opted to call it a night and head back to the trailer.

“Huge thanks to my guys for everything they did all night long,” Hirst said. “We had two cars out and both were really strong so that goes to show how hard everyone has been working. I also have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for continuing to support me, and giving this team great equipment.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle, Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, KW Suspension, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2015.
