SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (October 14, 2015) – More than 30 teams are set to conclude the 2015 Pacific Challenge Series presented by PenneyLawyers.com in Saturday’s “October Classic 100” at Roseville’s All American Speedway. The PCS’ largest annual event takes place during the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, West weekend at the one-third mile oval in Roseville.
Racers will not only be chasing a $3500 to win prize, they will also be raising funding for the Placer County Breast Cancer Foundation through a $5 ribbon program. Racer Bling has designed 1,000 Pink Ribbons which will be for sale for $5 each and will be applied to PCS race cars for the big race. Ribbons can be picked up from Penney Racing Supply at 5437 Stationers Way in Sacramento or by calling (916) 338-3434. Corporations may also purchase a set of ribbons to have their ribbon appear on each car in the race. The October Classic has evolved into a Race of Champions for the series with the series’ winningest driver Jeremy Doss of Upperlake, CA taking the inaugural 2014 edition. Doss, the 2012 series champion under the AABLM banner, has a total of 16 combined series victories including four this year. Doss heads an entry list that will also see newly crowned champion John Moore of Granite Bay and 2014 title winner Mike Beeler of Modesto in action.
Matt Scott is another champion entered, carrying three All American Speedway track Late Model championships on his mantle. Roseville’s Shannon Mansch will try to win one for the home team. Mansch became the first female to win a touring stock car title when she won the 2006 Westcar Late Model Series championship. Many of the same drivers and teams from that series migrated to PCS.
Several PCS race winners appear on the list including 2015 winners Hunter Corbitt of Folsom and Eagle, ID’s Travis Millburn and 2014 race winner Chris Scribner of Loomis.
2015 SRL race winner Jeff Bischofberger and multi-time NASCAR K&N West race winner Chris Eggleston of Colorado are also tentatively scheduled to compete. 2015 PCS Rookie of the Year Cole Moore, 18, is attempting his NASCAR K&N West debut on Saturday night and is mulling a double-duty effort in the Late Model as well at press time
