Steering Woes Hamper Andy Gregg

PETERSEN MEDIA: Making the trip to the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA on Saturday night to race with the King of the West Series, and get some laps for the upcoming Trophy Cup, Andy Gregg would have a steering issues force him to end his night early.

“We went down there to shake everything out, and get some laps at the Thunderbowl Raceway before the Trophy Cup,” Andy Gregg said. “We had some issues arise, and that is exactly why we made the trip down.”

Timing the GUTS Racing/ARP Enterprises/Capitol Ace Hardware No. 16x machine in 15th fastest in qualifying time trials, the Placerville, CA driver would go on to pick up the win during his heat race and, earn a spot in the Dash.

Pulling the two pill, Gregg would line up on the front row of the six-lap Dash, but he would not get the start he was looking for as he slipped back to finish fourth, putting him in the second row for the 30-lap KRC Safety Fall Shootout.

When the feature event got underway, Gregg would battle with Dominic Scelzi and Jac Haudenschild as he battled inside the Top-10 as laps would click off at a torrid pace on a night that saw an extremely hooked up Thunderbowl Raceway surface.

Starting to have issues, Gregg would slowly slip back through the field, until ultimately pulling into the infield on the 17th lap with a steering box issues, thus bringing his night to an early end.

“It was great to get down to the Thunderbowl Raceway, and I have to thank my guys for making the trip with me,” Gregg said. “The way the track was all night, I would be surprised if it was like that this week, but nonetheless it was great to get down there and make some laps.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, ARP Enterprises, Capitol Ace Hardware, K&N, FK Rod Ends, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, FK Shocks, Wilwood, , and Nail It Roofing for their support in 2015.
