T.J. Michael Will Begin Florida Trip with Visit to Ocala

Plano, Texas (January 20, 2016) – After weeks of preparation and planning, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael is set to make his first ever Florida sprint car start. Michael, a Plano, Texas, native who spends most of his summer months racing in northwest Ohio, will kick off his Florida campaign with a visit to Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala for the annual Bubba Army Winternationals. The high school senior will join the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions during his Ocala visit, helping the Tony Stewart-owned organization jumpstart their 2016 season.

“We leave in two weeks…we’ve been counting down for months” Michael said, “I’m pretty excited for this opportunity. We have a lot of great supporters that helped make this happen. Our goal is gain valuable track time and experience. The competition will be tough and the tracks will be foreign, but we’ll do our best to make an impact.”

The 5th annual Bubba Army Winternationals will begin for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Thursday evening, February 4, with a full slate of open practice. The 410 sprinters will return on Friday and Saturday, February 5-6, for back-to-back full programs awarding $5,000 each.

After a full weekend in Ocala, T.J. Michael will turn his attention toward Volusia Speedway Park near Daytona for DIRTcar Nationals competition. The 410 sophomore will once again join the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions for back-to-back programs on February 10-11, followed by a potential appearance with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on February 12-14.

“We have everything pretty much mapped out” Michael explained, “We are going to race all of the All Star events for sure and go from there. If we can keep our nose clean and stay consistent, we’ll most likely stick around for the Outlaw portion of the DIRTcar Nationals.”
